"Giselle" is considered one of the greatest Romantic ballets, emphasizing themes of love, betrayal, supernatural justice, and forgiveness. The contrast between the bright, earthly village in Act I and the ethereal, ghostly forest in Act II showcases the Romantic era's fascination with the ethereal, the afterlife, and eternal love.
"Giselle", known as a masterpiece in the classical ballet world, premiered in 1841, music by Adolphe Adam. Staged/choreographed by Tanya Vadurova after Jules Perrot & Jean Coralli's original choreography. This story ballet is one of the world's most-often performed ballets and is also one of the most challenging to dance.
Lead roles:
Giselle: Annette Bakala
Albrecht: Liam Caines
